Setup Active Directory

November 02, 2017

The Active Directory feature has the following uses:

  • Windows login-based Sign-In to Prolaborate
  • User / User group management based on Active Directory / LDAP Users and User Groups
  • Users managed dynamically as they are managed in Active Directory / LDAP
  • Email notifications to the users based on AD Emails

This article explains how to set up Active Directory in Prolaborate. Please note that this setup can be done only by an Admin.

Configure Active Directory (AD)

To configure AD, click on Active Directory in the Setting menu.

Active Directory configuration page will open.

  • Give a Name to the setup
  • Enter the Active Directory Server's IP address and Port Number.
  • Enable/disable SSL option
  • Enter the Domain address in the Domain field.
  • Enter the User name and Password used to login to the AD server(This is the user with permissions to access and retrieve AD objects)
  • Click on Save
Note: You can get the details mentioned above from your IT team.

On clicking Save, the application will check whether the details you entered are valid. If they are valid, the settings will be saved. Else, you will see an error message and the details will not be saved.

Once the setup is saved successfully, you need to enable the AD Sign-in option to allow the Active Directory users to login to Prolaborate.

You need to add AD users and setup their access permissions to let them use Prolaborate. To know how to do it, please check Add Users guide (Link on the right side under Related Articles)
